Ride Program

Once you have made the trip to the inn, park and forget your car. We stay at one inn and eat within walking distance. I provide the cue sheets, maps & directions for each day’s ride. We will plan a common lunch stop at a General Store (lunch cost is not included). Guests are free to ride the route at your own pace. I ride the route as a sweep rider to assist anyone with difficulties and I love the company of those who want a guided tour without reading the route directions. On some rides we may have other ride leaders or support vehicles

Custom Tours: I can also provide customized routes and inn reservations for your private group tour.

Weekend Tours
3 day weekend tours.
These tours start at an inn on Friday night; we do loop rides on Saturday and Sunday, with a shorter ride or hike on Monday, have lunch and head home.

Cost includes a room for 3 nights, 3 breakfasts and Saturday and Sunday dinner & drinks. The maximum group size is limited to about twelve by the size of the inn.

The rooms are comfortable and homey. Details will vary depending on the inn accommodations. Usually there is a private bath. Cost is $350 each based on double occupancy. The single supplement is $135. Roommates will be arranged if possible.

The Village Inn is unique and many rooms can sleep more than two.

Week Long, Five Day Tours
Arrive at an inn on Sunday night, we do 4 long loop rides and a short ride or hike Friday morning. These trips can accommodate a larger group due to the number of rooms at the inn. The cost includes 5 nights, 5 breakfasts, 4 dinners and a lunch on Friday.

Cost is $650 each based on double occupancy. The single supplement is $175.

Inns
I have spent the time to find inns located where it is possible to do the most scenic loop rides. We stay at friendly, affordable inns where the food and drink is within walking distance. See the slide show for pictures of the inns, and there are also links to the inns.

Bike Touring
Bring a road bike, equipped for riding a full day self-supported.
Saddle or handle bar bags are a good idea. You may want to buy things along the way.
Carry rain gear and a windbreaker. The weather can change quickly!
Dress in layers, and the bags are for the layers that you take off.
Bring snacks and plenty of water, we will be in remote areas.
Hefty touring tires are a good idea, and help to avoid flats.
The paved roads are generally in good condition.
I use a cyclo-cross bike, with 32 mm tires, because it gives me the option to ride the high quality dirt roads.
